SANDA

Sanda is a Chinese self-defense system and combat sport. In literal translation, it means “free hands”. A traditional Sanda fighter is proficient in free-fighting skills such as: Ti (kicking), Da (striking), Shuai (take-downs) and Na (grappling).

WUSHU

Wednesdays 4:30 - 7:00 PM

Wushu literally translates into “martial arts”. Wushu is a discipline that has its earliest and most recognized roots from Shaolin. It consists of tens of thousands of different styles with well known styles such as Shaolin Quan, Taiji Quan, and Xingyi Quan. Wushu has become a popular international sport that everyone can learn and use to attain its inherent benefits such as improving one’s health, balance, flexibility, coordination, speed, reaction time, and power.

LION DANCE

Fridays 6:00 - 8:30 PM
Life 26

Lion dance is a form of traditional Chinese dance in which two performers mimic a lion’s movements inside a lion costume. It is performed to the rhythm of the drum, cymbal and gong. Lion Dance is performed mainly during festivals in the Chinese New Year to spread good luck, prosperity, longevity and fortune.
